Nutrition and Biogas from leaves : Ecofriendly Stevia

Leaves are the life line of this universe. It is interesting to know that several people around the globe use "Leaves" as a keyword for several problems related to health, energy, cosmetics, gardening, lifestyle, home decoration, livelihood, agriculture, etc. You name it and probably you will find some information regarding the use of leaves in the desired sector.
The focus of this article is based on my current understanding from my blog, which found that people are looking a lot for the biogas around the globe. Around 80% of the people came to my blog for biogas. It is interesting to find that how a sometimes same leaves can serve two purposes in a series creating no issue of food vs fuel. For example, Stevia leaves are good source for providing nutritious sweetener. The leaves left after extraction of sweetener can be used for the production of biogas, which can run the industry involved in extracting the sweetener from Stevia leaves. This makes the Stevia industry sustainable, profitable and eco-friendly as it uses bio energy for running its operations and produces only biodegradable products.
The slurry obtained from such operations can be used as the fertilizer for the cultivation of the Stevia, which makes the whole process independent of the external forces, especially the volatility which exists due to the dependence on oil. This can help in stabilizing the sweetener prices making the manufacturer a reliable source for Stevia sweetener. Further, tie-ups with carbon credit and CDM investors will allow the manufacturer to generate extra revenue because of the lower carbon release from the whole process as compared to conventional methodologies. In a nutshell, the whole process is a rosy picture with no problems.
Theoretically, the above mentioned information is sufficient but in real world lot more information is needed as for every project financial evaluation is no more the criteria, rather economic evaluation is becoming the need of the hour and people need more than just money. This is tricky part as economic evaluation is dependent on the project site to a certain extent. Nonetheless, it cannot be ignored that leaves are one such example in nature which can solve more than one problem for the mankind.
